This (via Andy Hunt) is a brilliant idea. A great example of thinking outside of the box, in my opinion.


The greatest problem is getting politicians into the frame of mind that less central control is better. After all, they live by regulating everything, making laws and rules for the most inconsequential things. In my experience traffic indeed flows better when people are left to decide for themselves. This became completely clear one day when on the way to a large event. The only trafficjam we encountered (despite heavy traffic) was at a place where a policeman was trying to direct traffic. Everywhere else traffic moved freely and rapidly, but as soon as it approached his position there resulted gridlock. Directly after his position traffic flowed freely again...
Uh-huh. Around here, most of the decisions politicians seem to make involve their own pay increases...
