Here's my quote of the day, coming from Jon Eaves:

"Tools should be used to automate tasks that people understand how to perform,
not provide a crutch for people to perform tasks that they don't understand."


That's a really excellent, concise summary of the reason I (and quite a few other Ranchers) often tell rank newbies to stay away from IDEs until they learn the basics of Java (or any other language). It really hits the nail on the head.
