Keith Ray posted a link to an excellent write-up where the author talks about developers thinking that writing code without tests is faster and comparing that to what he calls "process addiction."

The article is very good and accurate. I found it funny, too, because I sometimes start a talk about agile methods by saying, "My name is Dave and I am a process addict. I've been clean for three years."

I don't know if that makes sense in Finland. The structure of the statement is based on the standard introduction members of Alcoholics Anonymous make when they address one of their meetings.

I think "the line" is same in Finland--we have an AA as well (Anonyymit Alkoholistit) and I'm pretty sure they've copied the whole format from the states (that is, from TV)...

Oh, and I'm so going to steal your line ;)

It's not stealing, it's reuse.
