I've said this before but perhaps the most important thing about working at Reaktor is the people you get to work with. As an example of the kind of devotion to the profession, here's a photo I just snapped of a book that a coworker had ordered.

Advanced COBOL

Yes, you're looking at a COBOL book. And we're mostly a Java shop with exactly zero COBOL projects (although some of our finance industry clients are still running large parts of their business on mainframes). With this in mind, I can only admire one's desire to learn new things when I see someone picking up a COBOL book purely out of interest.

New things or old things?
Heh. Didn't you get the memo about COBOL being the new Java? ;)
My spam filter must have blocked it.
I am impressed. Not sure if I ever reach such a level of enlightenment :)
I took a quick peek inside the book and my path to enlightenment stopped on page 13 and a discussion of how COBOL records are described. Let's just say that I could tell that I wasn't ready for the enlightenment quite yet ;)
