Breaking the silence
(a.k.a. it's out there!)

People are pretty good at recognizing patterns and one that I've recognized recently is the increasingly frequent questions about me not blogging for a while. Not blogging for a bit over a month to be exact. At this point the repentant blogger always provides a reason for the silence, which is exactly what I'm going to do. Why haven't I blogged?

Test Driven - my new book on test-driven development

As you may know I've been working on a book on test-driven development for Manning Publications. During the past month or so, it's gotten to the early stages of production. In fact, you can already buy the first 4 chapters online (both from Manning and from Amazon) and the rest will follow soon during the next few weeks. I've been indexing and redrawing graphics and will continue to do so for a bit longer still.

You can probably guess how excited I am but what you don't know is that one of the most pedantic and anal technology wizards I know and the author of Manning's JESS in Action, Ernest Friedman-Hill promised to do tech proofing for my book making sure we're publishing defect-free literature!

Cool bananas. I'm all pumped up. The feedback I've received so far has been quite good and I can't wait to get it out there.
