Just got word that one of my Aunt - Kasturi, passed away. Hmmmm....here I am 16000 air-miles away thinking about her at midnight. Life is soooooooooooo short and fragile folks!

Just the day before she was at my parents house taking part in a ceremony - talking to all the relatives gathered there. She goes home at night. Next day evening, she's gone forever. I just hope she had a good time meeting everyone, one last time.

She was one of those stalwarts that could pull everyone together. When there was a big occasion (good or bad) she was an encyclopedia for everything in life - from a new addition to a wedding to a funeral and everything in-between. She knew exacly what had to be done at what time and who should be involved. You see, Hindu culture has so many intricate features assimilated into day-to-day life that its difficult for folks like me to remember.

So, here's a little space on the www saying RIP. We will all miss you.
