Frank links to "Unexpected Places: What is the place of learning?" entry of THE EXPERIENCE DESIGNER NETWORK. "Search for places of knowledge" reminded me a simple variant of this idea I read in Wendy Lesser's introduction to The Genius of Language. Quoting the words B. Brecht wrote in exile in California, she says: Driving over the bridge to San Francisco, especially at dawn or twilight, I frequently look out at that familiar landscape and think of the lines from Brecht's Caucasian Chalk Circle about why one loves one's country: "Because the bread tastes better, the sky is higher, the air smells better, voices sound stronger, the ground is easier to walk on. Isn't that so?" Sometimes one understands the truth of things best through absences and lacks (as Conrad grasped English more tightly because it was discovered, not inherited). I am not sure if this idea has a potential to develop into something more profound, but I'll set it up here, as a reminder for future musings.

Map, your blog is a great read.
I think I can safely dump the periodicals I read and stick to your blog. But I am a bit scared where that will take me. ;)
Someone should write a blog-guide to the internal workings of Map.
BTW I managed to delete your comment as you asked. The trash can symbol mysteriously appeared on another computer. Do post again.

Hi Map, sorry it's until today I know this is your weblog. :FaceRed:. I'll come here now and then. I called you last night (your afternoon) but got an answering machine. Please show up when you feel good enough!

Map, I've come to chew or eschew your blog. Blog some more.
You've got some good mates I see in Ellen and MM.
